The Robben interest probably means that Ronaldo is the second option and I hope that Cristiano feels snubbed and closes the door to any eventual negotiation.

Speaking more seriously I do not know if Chelsea will just sell Robben so maybe Real Madrid will try again to sign Ronaldo. Even if Chelsea sells their player maybe Chelsea will turn to Manchester to find his substitute. In this case hopefully the Red Devils will just say no because they are in a good financial shape and strengthening your rival is never a good idea.

Apparently Real have not decided to count postal votes and have made an official announcement that Ramon Calderon has won. He's promised to make Fabio Capello manager and sign Kaka, Cesc Fabregas and Arjen Robben.

Yeah early reports say Villar Mir has not won, but a lot could depend on whether they decide to count postal ballots or not, so it's not cut-and-dried just yet. I get the impression, though, that Ronaldo has his heart set on a move to Real, so it could still happen regardless of who wins the presidency (especially now he's been painted as the pantomime villain in England's quarter final defeat)...I guess we'll just have to wait and see, though I hope he chooses to stay.

The elections results are not clear but it seems that Juan Miguel Villar Mir is not the new president so probably that will put an end to the rumors about Cristiano Ronaldo.

I think the Portoguese will become a great player but just like you said he is not yet consistent. For this reason I hope that he is not going to join the Real Madrid club where a lot of emphasis is put on the commercial side of a player to the detriment of his growth as a football player.

Besides I do not think that Sir Ferguson with all his (right) devotion to the young players and therefore to the future of the club will sell him. Maybe within a couple of years when he will find a new Ronaldo but for now I do not think he will move (I hope these do not become the last famous words :-))
